How to configure and/or bypass SMTP maximum message size restrictions
MDaemon has the ability to configure a maximum message size globally and/or per-domain. The steps below will detail how to exclude authenticated SMTP sessions from the maximum message size restriction.
To configure a maximum message size for all users/senders and enable the SMTP AUTH sessions to bypass this value:
- Select Setup
- Select Server Settings
- Select Servers
- Enter a KB value in the Refuse messages larger than text box.
- Check ...except when SMTP AUTH is successfully used
- Click Apply
- Click OK
MDaemon's Domain Manager can configure maximum message sizes for authenticated domain senders and a maximum message size from other senders.
- Select Setup
- Select Domain Manager
- Expand the menu (+) of the domain to be configured.
- Select Settings
- Enter a KB value in the Max message size from authenticated senders box.
- Enter a KB value in the Max message size from all other senders box.
- Click Apply
- Click OK
