How to configure Thunderbird to sync contacts using CardBook

Thunderbird does not support CardDav by default.  Thunderbird extensions exist to allow the client to sync personal, public, and shared contact lists.

The following article requires the Cardbook plug-in.  This plug-in can be found in the extensions menu in Thunderbird or the link below.

Click here to go to the CardBook extension page.

When the plug-in is installed and enabled:
  1. Click the CardBook icon
  2. Select the CardBook options icon
  3. Mouse over Address Book
  4. Select New Address Book
  5. Select Remote
  6. Click Next
  7. Select CardDAV
  8. Enter the URL of MDaemon's web server.
  9. Enter the Username
  10. Enter the Password
  11. Click Validate to verify the protocol.
  12. Click Next
  13. Choose the contact list(s) to be added to the client plug-in.
  14. Click Next
  15. Click OK to close the wizard.
