Why I should choose your services?

Alt-N has been providing email and email security software for almost two decades.

There are very few companies today that have the same level of expertise of email technology. As a developer, Alt-N is uniquely positioned to quickly bring features to your business, as well as respond to your needs or new feature requests.

While we have traditionally offered software only, we understand some customers want their email managed as a service. As a global provider of email and email security products to a global customer base of small-to-medium businesses, we have the expertise to offer unparalleled service and support to our customers.

Why should I choose WorldClient over Office365?

There are a number of factors that Microsoft does not advertise in its marketing message to customers that are well documented on a number of IT boards and Google searches.


Migration

Customers have to pay a third party to migrate their email, contacts, calendar, notes, and tasks. This migration can average 3-5 hrs per mailbox at an average of $150/hr.
Alt-N provides migration services at an affordable rate and if you are currently using MDaemon, migration is a quick and seamless process.

Cost and Flexibility

Microsoft isn't as cheap as you think. Most customers fall into either the $12.50 or $20.00/month/user package (these are the plans that entitle a user to desktop versions of Office). If you have a need for archiving or data protection (ie Legal Hold or Data Loss Prevention), you pay $20.00/user/month. O365 requires every user to be on the same plan. So, executive "power users" that have more expensive O365 feature needs will force the entire organization to pay the higher rate.

Privacy

Microsoft cannot guarantee where your data will reside.
Alt-N will tell you where your data is and it stays private with you.

Support

One of the biggest complaints from O365 customers on IT community websites or performance sites like www.downdetector.com is the slow or unhelpful support from Microsoft.
Alt-N built its business on listening to its customers. You can rest assured that you will not be thrown into queue of one of the largest companies in the US hoping to get your issue resolved in a timely fashion.

Are your servers in house or elsewhere?

Alt-N's hosted server infrastructure is housed in the data-center(s) of our strategic infrastructure partner(s).

The physical location of your mail server will depend on your geoographic location.

What do you have in place to ensure that we do not lose our emails and service if there is an issue with the server/internet?

Servers will be running on an industry standard, high availability platform.

The service itself has many layers, including site-to-site server replication and redundant multi-destination backups on a scheduled basis.

What are your support hours?

Our 24-hour support includes a variety of tools to help you around the clock.

  • Direct, and priority contact with one of our support engineers via phone, chat, or email Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM CST (GMT/UTC-5).
  • Direct 24/7 contact with our call center after normal business hours, with escalation to a dedicated Alt-N support engineer for critical needs.
  • Full web access to our in-depth knowledge article database.

What is included for the amount we are paying?

Our $5 per user/month base offering includes the following:

  • Browser-based email, calendar, contacts, tasks, notes
  • 25 GB storage per mailbox
  • AntiSpam, antivirus, and outbreak protection
  • Email filtering; to include user self-service of quarantine, whitelist, blacklist
  • Email Encryption
  • Document sharing
  • Instant messaging
  • Mobile device management
  • Mobile device synchronization via IMAP

Add $2 per user/month and receive:

  • Outlook client support
  • Mobile device synchronization via ActiveSync

How does billing work?

Alt-N hosting services are billed on a monthly basis.

Invoices are processed at the beginning (pre-payment) of each billing period. Each individual service under your account will be billed on the anniversary of date of which it became active (the service date), and will renew each month on the anniversary of the service date.

What are my payment options?

Credit Card.

A valid credit card must be on file, and will be billed automatically at the beginning of each billing period.

Can we get our emails on our phones? Which Phones?

Yes. MDaemon Hosting supports (the service is available for an additional fee) the latest version of Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.

ActiveSync provides the highest level of integration for the latest mobile devices, including iPhone / iPad, BlackBerry 10, Android, Windows Mobile / Windows Phone, and most other device platforms.

ActiveSync provides native synchronization of a user's default and shared email, calendar, contacts, and tasks data between the MDaemon server, WorldClient (MDaemon's web-based email client) or Outlook (using the Outlook Connector plug-in) account and an ActiveSync capable device.

What if I need to adjust the number of mailboxes?

No problem.

You have access to your account portal where you can adjust the number of users and your billing is then easily adjusted.

Is Spam and email virus filtering included?

Of course!

And we also offer individual spam quarantine reports delivered directly to the user's inbox for an easy way to manage email delivery.

Can I migrate my data to the WorldClient Private Email service?

Yes.

We can provide easy to follow instructions or even take care of it for you for a small service fee.

Can we send spam or bulk email?

No.

Sending spam or bulk email is prohibited in the terms and conditions. Any accounts found to be sending spam and/or bulk email will be disabled.
