How to reset your Contacts and Calendar data on a BlackBerry smartphone with the data stored on the server

This article will explain how to reset your Contacts and Calendar data on a BlackBerry smartphone with the data stored on the BES enabled MDaemon account.

Note: The following procedure will remove the existing selected Calendar and Contact data on the BlackBerry smartphone. Once that data is removed from the device, it will then be resynchronized with the calendar and contact data found in the BES enabled MDaemon account to which it is associated. For this reason, before beginning this procedure, the user should use BlackBerry Desktop Manager to back up any data that they do not wish to lose.

Calendar:

  1. Select the Calendar icon from the home screen, and then press the trackpad.
  2. Press the BlackBerry menu key, select Options, and then press the trackpad.
  3. Scroll to Desktop (Default name for a BES enabled MDaemon account), and then type 'RSET'
  4. Acknowledge the dialog, 'This will erase your Desktop calendar, and reload it from your server. Continue?'*
  5. Click Yes

*If you have more than one Calendar/Contact syncronizing account, please ensure you reset the correct one. By default, MDaemon uses the name Desktop.

Contacts:

  1. Select the Contacts icon from the home screen, and then press the trackpad.
  2. Press the BlackBerry menu key, select Options, and then press the trackpad.
  3. Scroll to Desktop (Default name for a BES enabled MDaemon account), and then type 'RSET'
  4. Acknowledge the dialog, 'This will erase your Desktop contact list, and reload it from your server. Continue?'*
  5. Click Yes

*If you have more than one Calendar/Contact syncronizing account, please ensure you reset the correct one. By default, MDaemon uses the name Desktop.
