Why are emails that I delete from my BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) enabled Smartphone or BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) account not removed from my MDaemon account?

By default, most BlackBerry smartphones are configured to delete the email from the device only and not the device and server.

To change this behavior on the BlackBerry device:

  1. Select the Messages icon from the home screen

  2. Press the BlackBerry menu key
  3. Select Options

  4. Select Email Reconciliation

  5. From the drop down box next to the Delete ON: field select one of the following:

    • Mailbox & Handheld - To always delete from the Mailbox & Handheld
    • Prompt - To prompt you for a selection each time

  6. Press the BlackBerry menu key
  7. Select Save
