What NotifyLink mobility services are available for MDaemon?

The NotifyLink Services for MDaemon® provides administrators and users with simple, fast, and cost effective email synchronization and PIM functionality supporting virtually all Palm, Windows Mobile, and RIM/BlackBerry OS Devices over a variety of wireless networks: GSM/GPRS, CDMA/1XRTT, and 802.11x. The solution offers the flexibility to be implemented in a Hosted or Enterprise (server-based) environment.
One of the few solutions available for IMAP4 environments today, NotifyLink Services for MDaemon provides Over-the-Air synchronization of Email [and Personal Information Management (PIM)], thus freeing users from the requirement of cradling their wireless devices in order to maintain email synchronization.
NotifyLink Services for MDaemon provides "PUSH" notification, eliminating the need for users to manually initiate a data session in order to retrieve their business email. With the NotifyLink Services, all email and PIM information will be stored safely behind an organization’s firewall while all delivery of information to and from the wireless devices to the NotifyLink Services is encrypted utilizing the FIPS 140-2 compliant TDES or AES encryption algorithms. The NotifyLink Services provides maximum flexibility for MDaemon administrators, allowing a quick start on solving their mobility needs.
The NotifyLink Enterprise Edition for MDaemon provides "Scheduled Push, Direct Push and SMS Push" notification eliminating the need for users to initiate a data session in order to retrieve their personal data. As with the Services, all email information will be stored safely behind an organization’s firewall while all delivery of information to and from the wireless devices is encrypted utilizing either the TDES or AES encryption algorithms. The Enterprise Edition provides maximum flexibility for the IT professional while minimizing complexity, providing multiple internal user groups with a robust solution over multiple devices and/or wireless networks.

Does the NotifyLink Services for MDaemon require a special client for each type of wireless device?
The NotifyLink Services requires a specific device client for each unique wireless device-operating environment. There are unique device clients for PalmOne, Windows Mobile, and BlackBerry wireless devices. NotifyLink clients have been developed to seamlessly run on each device’s specific operating environment. This is done to attain the highest level of performance and to take advantage of specific features for the different devices.

What email operations can I perform from my wireless device?
Users have the ability to send, receive, reply, forward, and delete email messages directly from their wireless device as if they were sitting at their own office desktop. All email activity will be synchronized with users’ desktop folders.
NotifyLink supports viewing attachments on PalmOS, Windows Mobile, and BlackBerry devices. Many handheld devices are shipped with the necessary software allowing for this functionality. With Palm OS and Windows Mobile devices, NotifyLink will download or upload the attached file in its native format. Viewing or editing the attachment will be a function of either using a 3rd party or native OS capability. Attachment support for the BlackBerry device is done using a 3rd party viewer/editor system integrated into NotifyLink. This will allow the user to download the attachments to the device but requires a third party application to view and or edit the attachments.

What types of attachments can I view on my BlackBerry Palm or Windows Mobile Device?
Attachment viewing supports document types such as - .xls, .doc, .pdf, images and .ppt.

Do the NotifyLink Services for MDaemon provide encryption of my email?
The NotifyLink service provides maximum security by supporting either TDES or AES encryption standards when sending and receiving information to and from the wireless device.

How fast do changes on my wireless device synchronize with my desktop email?
All email information created or modified on the wireless device is synchronized almost immediately following the operation between the device and the NotifyLink Services.

Can I delete email from my wireless device?
Yes, when the configurable options for deleting email from the wireless device are enabled. Users have the ability to delete email from the device as well as designate the email to be automatically deleted from the desktop. In addition, any email read from the device will be marked as read, again based upon the way in which the users NotifyLink client is configured.

If I delete an email on my desktop will it get deleted on my wireless device?
Yes, if the user selects that option. The NotifyLink Services provides configurable options to provide desktop mirroring for deleted email messages as well as marking email read on the device once it is read on the desktop.

Can I filter out some of the email going to my wireless device?
Yes. The NotifyLink service provides robust multi-level filtering criteria based on subject, sender, or specific words found in the body of the email. For example, establish a filter based on a combination of criteria (e.g., I only want to receive email from user@domain.com if the word important is in the subject line).

What are the components of the NotifyLink Services for MDaemon?
There are basically 2 components to the NotifyLink Hosted Edition Service. The first component is the Hosting Data Center where the NotifyLink Service resides and the second component is NotifyLink device client for PalmOne, Windows Mobile, and BlackBerry wireless devices.

How reliable is the NotifyLink Service?
Notify has selected a "hardened" data facility to facilitate the NotifyLink Services. Notify will target 99.9% operational uptime service.

Do We Need Special Hardware on premise for supporting the NotifyLink Services?
There is no hardware required (other than the users’ PDA device) at the customer site for supporting the NotifyLink Services.

Users need to be using MDaemon version 6.0 or higher.

Yes, if the international user is English-speaking.

What does our organization need to do to support the NotifyLink Services?
The NotifyLink Services will require an organization to authorize the single IP address of the Hosted Server to access the MDaemon email server. The NotifyLink Services will typically be connecting to port 143 or 993.
The NotifyLink Enterprise Edition for MDaemon provides "Scheduled Push, Direct Push and SMS Push" notification eliminating the need for users to initiate a data session in order to retrieve their personal data. Who is responsible for doing administration on the NotifyLink Services?
Notify Technology’s customer support personnel will administer the NotifyLink Hosted Edition. Customers using the Enterprise Edition can work with their reseller or with Notify on support options.

Who do I contact for questions and support?
MDaemon users should direct all questions and support for the NotifyLink service to Notify Technology at sales@notifycorp.com.
Alt-N Technologies and Notify Technology have worked together closely to ensure that customers receive an outstanding customer experience. However, should MDaemon customers feel that the resolution to their issue is not satisfactory, they can contact Alt-N Technologies at sales@altn.com and an Alt-N Technologies representative will work with the customer and attempt to resolve the issue.

How do I sign up for NotifyLink Services?
Sign-up is easy. Visit Alt-Technologies at http://www.altn.com/Products/MobilitySolutions/NotifyLink to request additional information or to sign-up for the service. Upon submission of customer information for sign-up, each new user will be provided with a 30-day evaluation period and will not be billed until the end of the evaluation period. The Service Term is a (12) twelve-month period. No refunds will be given for cancellations made during the annual agreement period.
