SyncML Setup for BlackBerry Devices
MDaemon's webmail client, WorldClient, includes a SyncML compliant server that can be used to synchronize your calendar, contacts, and tasks with any SyncML compatible mobile device. The following instructions will take you step-by-step through the setup process on the MDaemon Messaging Server and on the BlackBerry® device using the free Funambol® SyncML client.
MDaemon SyncML Setup
SyncML must be enabled in MDaemon in order to use the SyncML synchronization capabilities.
Step 1
Click Setup and select Web, Sync, & IM Services.
Step 2
Select SyncML in the left-hand navigation menu.
Step 3
Verify that Enable SyncML server is checked.
If you would like to only enable SyncML for a specific domain, then you can select that domain in the Select Domain drop-down menu.
Step 4
Click Ok to finish.
BlackBerry SyncML Setup Using Funambol
Download Funambol from BlackBerry App World
- Launch the BlackBerry App World app on your BlackBerry smartphone. If you do not have the BlackBerry App World app on your BlackBerry, you can download it from http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/appworld/.
- Click the Search button, and enter Funambol in the Search blank, then press the trackball.
- Highlight Funambol Sync Client in the search results, then press the trackball.
- Click Download.
- Enter the credentials for your BlackBerry ID. If you don't have a BlackBerry ID, you'll need to register one at http://us.blackberry.com/id/.
BlackBerry SyncML Setup Using Funambol
Step 1
Open the Downloads folder.
Step 2
Launch the Funambol BlackBerry Sync app.
Step 3
Click the Login button next to Already have an account.
Step 4
Enter your full email address in the Username field.
Step 5
Enter your email password in the Password field.
Step 6
In the Server URL field, enter your MDaemon WorldClient webmail URL, followed by /mdsyncml.dll
For example, if your WorldClient URL is https://mail.example.com, then enter https://mail.example.com/mdsyncml.dll
If you are unsure of what to enter here, then see your MDaemon administrator.
Step 7
Click LOGIN.

Press the BlackBerry Menu button on your smartphone.

Select Settings.

Scroll to Sync Contacts and change Remote Name: to contacts.

Scroll to Sync Calendars and change Remote Name: to calendar.

Scroll to Sync Tasks and change Remote Name: to tasks.

Uncheck Notes.

Uncheck Pictures.

Uncheck Videos.

Press the BlackBerry Menu button on your smartphone.

Select Save.

Press the BlackBerry Menu button again.

Select Sync All.

When synchronization is completed, you will see the following screen, displaying the last time a successful sync occurred.
At this time, your MDaemon Contacts, Calendar items and Tasks will be synchronized to your BlackBerry smartphone.
