Alt-N Technologies' MDaemon 9 Embraces Sender ID
Grapevine, Texas -- March 20, 2006 -- Planned for release during April 2006, the MDaemon 9.0 email server will include major performance and feature enhancements including full support for the Sender ID Framework for email authentication.
Sender ID is an e-mail authentication initiative developed by Microsoft and other industry leaders as a technical solution to help counter spoofing--the No. 1 deceptive practice used by spammers. The utility of Sender ID is immediate and the need for authentication of inbound email has never been more critical for business.
"Sender ID is an important tool in the war on spam and phishing," said Arvel Hathcock, Alt-N CEO and original author of MDaemon. "We believe it is complimentary to cryptographic techniques such as DKIM, and it is obvious that by leveraging the large number of domains already publishing authentication data in DNS, Sender ID provides an immediate 'out of the box' benefit to our mail server customers."
In addition to help support industry understanding and adoption of email authentication technologies, Alt-N is underwriting the upcoming Email Authentication Summit II in Chicago on April 19, 2006. This full-day conference is designed for email administrators, marketers, email service providers and IT professionals who are looking to help reduce spam from hitting their networks, improve deliverability and confidence in email, protect their customers from phishing attacks, and protect their domains and brands from online exploits.
"Email is an important communication tool in today's world, yet online and email threats continue to evolve," said Craig Spiezle, director, Microsoft Technology Care and Safety group. "It is incumbent upon us as an industry to work toward solutions that help email filtering technology to be effective and accurate and enable reliable deliverability for legitimate email. Solutions from leaders such as Alt-N which integrate Sender ID, are crucial to helping restore trust and confidence in e-mail."
